I wake up to a blue sky
To song and dance from birds on my window seal
Still, I stand for a moment to watch the world peel
Into racing cars and empty parks
Yet heaven smiles, bright beams descend
Unworthy of the glow I take 5 in the shadow
Sip, sip! reminiscing on burned bridges and how to make amends
Fickle as water, our lives are as dreamlike as smoke
The wind takes centre stage like an egg yolk
My mind walks into a joke from loved country folk
I giggle behind it, trying not to choke
These fallen trees, each for every promise that I broke
Float on the surface like a boat
I kick pass shuffling leaves, right back into chaos
These words are not to break but to lift us
But talk is… just talk, if you don’t walk the talk
I prefer not to talk when I walk
